John Frusciante Preps Two New Albums

Former RHCP guitarist John Frusciante is working on two new releases this spring. First is an EP from his new group Kimono Kult titled, Hiding In The Light. The Los Angeles based group also features Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of Mars Volta as well as members from Bosnian Rainbows and Swahili Blonde. Hiding In The Light is streaming for a limited time over at Consequence of Sound.

Frusciante’s second release is yet another solo album, following last years Outsides EP. Titled Enclosure, the new record promises to be in the vein of Frusciante’s more experimental works. Says John “Enclosure, upon its completion, was the record which represented the achievement of all the musical goals I had been aiming at for the previous 5 years. (The album) is presently my last word on the musical statement which began with PBX.” Sounds like it could be an interesting listen!

Kimono Kult’s Hiding In The Light is out now via Neurotic Yell Records and John Frusciante‘s Enclosure will be out April 8th via Record Collection.

I am absolutely and unabashedly in love with music. If I could eat a huge bowl of songs for breakfast every morning, I totally would. I'm obsessive about categorization (don't mess with my chronological or alphabetical) and can't stand an unorganized iTunes library. Outside of music and writing, I love baseball (go Rockies), coffee, corgi's and going on fun trips with my girlfriend!

Very intrigued by what Kimono Kult will sound like. That’s quite the eclectic group!

Yeah, the stream is pretty interesting. I do like Frusciante’s work no matter what he does, but lately its been getting a bit too experimental for my tastes. I would love to see him strap on his guitar and just rock the fuck out!
