In what could be the most unlikely collaboration….well….ever, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has teamed up with jazz/country/indie rock chanteuse Norah Jones. As if that wasn’t interesting (read strange) enough, the duo has recorded an album together titled Foreverly, which is, for the most part, a cover album of The Everly Brothers’ 1958 cover album Songs Our Daddy Taught Us. OK, did you get all of that? Norah and Billie Joe got together to record a cover album of a cover album….yeah.
Although the methodology leading up to this completely unexpected LP may never truly be understood, it should be pretty exciting to hear. Foreverly is slated to be released on November 25th through Reprise.
